This road trip takes you around “the ring road” (Riksveg 1), which circles all of Iceland. Experience all the extreme, beautiful and fascinating wonders along the way. You will drive over highland plateaus, through barren lave landscapes and lush farmlands, along the coast and into fairytale fjords with mighty mountains towering over you and glaciers sparkling in the horizon. Let yourself be seduced by Iceland’s ever changing and contrasting scenery.

Optional Add - Ons:
  • the package price is based on a Suzuki Jimny 4WD. Other car types are available.
  • Accommodation – Choose between accommodation with shared shower/WC facilities, and hotel rooms with a private bathroom/WC.
  • Entrance to the Blue Lagoon or Sky Lagoon - Book in advance!
  • Carbon offsetting for your flights to and from Iceland.
  • Cancellation insurance if illness occurs.

Paid on site:
  • Petrol prices are similar to those in the UK.
  • Upon collection of the hire car at Keflavik Airport an airport fee of approximately £30, - is payable.
  • All rental cars are booked on a per day basis. If you collect the car at 17:00, you have to drop it off 17:00 at the latest on the return day. Otherwise, there will be an extra day of rental charged.

The itinerary was great, and got us seeing lots of Iceland with no worries! Everything was arranged well, save for a couple of the hotels not getting the "one twin room" memo, but they were all able to swap on the spot. Car rental, hotel bookings all good. We had a great time, and had no need to reach out to Vulkan travel the whole time we were there.
They were extremely helpful when Iceland Air cancelled our original return flight and auto re-booked us on an earlier one. I reached out to Vulkan, and they rearranged a flight the next day and additional hotel bookings. Very smooth. Their staff are also very communicative and friendly.
